I found this software, but why does it say 45 dollars to buy but to download it , it would be free. What am I missing?

It's shareware which means you only have a trail version. If you need rip DVD for free, you may use the two free programs: DVD Decrypter http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/ DVD shrink http://www.dvd-shrink.org/ will help you copy the DVD content onto your computer in Vob format. Then you can convert vob files to regular video formats using a free tool named super which you can download at http://www.erightsoft.com/
Otherwise, you only need to use Daniusoft DVD Ripper to complete all the process with one software. It could help you convert DVD to all popular video formats with only three steps. Also it let you set the movie effects.

probably is a trial version. Download dvd shrink, its free fast and best.

Means you pay for it but can download it for free after it's paid for.Just go in and get dvddecrypter and dvdshrink.There free if you can still get them.Good luck.
