Your mother probably just doesn't want you to get disappointed like the thousands of other girls who move out to LA pursuing acting careers. Just tell her that you really want to become an actress and show her that you can make the grown up decisions on your own. The right thing to do would be to stay home and go to college and study acting there, you could even look for a college in LA or New York, but to just move with no plan is a bad idea. I am not saying that you are not good enough, but you should think about a career to fall back on and college is a good start. Most good actors get discovered doing something through their acting schools.

Well, it's a big step. I'm sure that your mom will be supportive of what you want, and yes there are places right there around where you live that can start you out. Read up on things, so that you have an idea as to how much education you will need to get started, and check the Community colleges around where you live to see just what they offer. By saying that you are going to just 'go' to L.A. to pursue your 'career', kind of sounds like you are saying you are going to go join the circus! I'm sorry. That is the way that I see it, as an outsider. You probably just graduated from high school? I'm sure that your high school must have offered dance, some form of dance. That could have started you out. Also, if you participated in skits or senior plays, this could have helped you out also. I wish you the best of luck, and hope that everything works out for you. Remember, everything takes time! Nothing happens over night. Like I said, I'm sure that your mom will help you and be with you with whatever you decide to do.

There a lot of guys over here that would take advantage of you and leave you with nothing, you should start as a play actor, not move into movies! A lot of actors started their road of success by acting in plays. you need to get into drama groups at your school or a local community center, they go to community theaters sometimes and you could get a lift from a fellow drama person....

No its not a good idea. Part of being an actor is experiencing life and you can do that now. Read plays and books from the library. You will need the information for acting. Practice your public speaking abilities. And study! You can't be an actor if you can't read and write. You'll need good math skills to handle your money.

Your still way to young so when your 18 you and your mom should talk about it then. Things just isnt that simple, maybe when your older youll understand what your mom is saying.

I don't think it is that your mom isn't being supportive, I think she thinks that you are young and not serious. You are what 13? Most preteens change their mind alot before 18. If you are serious about this, be persistent with her until she gets it.. Good-luck to you..
