The Bible and Qu'ran. B.C. is a time when the leaders decided, let's create a story and call it GOD. We will use the story of GOD to instill the fear of GOD in everyone. Then let us take someone, Jesus Christ, crucify him, to support our theory of GOD and write a book, the Bible or Qu'ran, with stories about do's and don'ts. A book about moral decency if you will. This will help tame and control societies for years to come.

Laws are written based on that theory. Isn't that enough. Have the Church and Mosque's gone too far through time instilling this fear into everyone. It's been 2000 years plus. Don't you believe that people who still believe every word in these religious literatures to be that of an extremist? We have laws now. And nobody needs to instill the fear of God in people.

I believe the Church has done wonderful things throughout time and helped many people. But, I also believe they have hurt people and told too many lies.

Jesus told us "Love one another and do good to those that hate you."

Does that sound like an extremist?

The Church has built more hospitals, orphanages, charity organizations and monasteries than any other institution in the history of man. Every day the Church ministers to millions in both body and soul. And it has produced millions of saints that have inspired others to live better lives.

Again, does this sound like extremism?

Please, don't let a few rotten apples spoil the whole barrel for you. It makes you seem so.....prejudiced.

Do you think the majority of religious writings is based on Extremists?

That would depend on what you mean by Extremists. If you mean, Biblically, that the bible was written by a God with a hard line of how to live and not to live rather then the apologetic excuse some groups have become... God doesn't change his mind from one day to the next. Whether it is based on extremist ideology or not, that's something you'll have to decide for yourself.

There is right and wrong, there is absolute truth regardless of what people get together and decide. There is simple affirmation of this, absolute truth, in day to day contacts. If someone cuts you off in traffic and gives you the finger while doing it, do you wonder if that was wrong? If your neighbor was withholding food from one of her five children for the past 3 months, would you question the morality of that? Would you question your perspective and think maybe my truth is just different then her's? No, somehow everyone would agree that these kinds of things are wrong. A simple testament to a higher a law shared by humanity of every race and creed.

I know this might not make sense but you asked a rather multi perspective question.
