hey peeps, i need a new camera, i live in melb and i dont know much about cameras, i want something that takes great pictures in all conditions - digital of course - can someone tell me whats the best camera, and why and if you know how much? cant spend heaps though!!! not rich like some lol!!!!

First, sit down and make a list of how you plan to use the camera. How involved are you in photography? Will you use it mostly for family and friends?
Once you've decided the main uses for your new camera then you can do some research.
Check shutterbug.com and look, in the Sept 2007. issue, for the review of five 10 megapixel digicams. That may be all the camera you need. The Canon PowerShot G7 is the one they rated best. Its about $469.00 US. I have no idea what it would be in Australia.
If your personal assessment indicates more involvement in photography then you might want to consider a DSLR. The Aug. 2007 of Shutterbug has a review of the Pentax K10D digital single lens reflex camera.
