Quite a few, most young Israeli Arabs (Arabs who hold Israeli citizenship) are fluent in both. Most Sephardi Jews speak both, as they may speak Arabic at home. Ashkenazi Jews learn Arabic at school but many do not speak it fluently.

Hebrew and Arabic are both official languages and both plus English are learnt at school. However, due to the many countries that Jews have emigrated to Israel from you are likely to hear languages including English, Russian, Yiddish and Ladino (aka Judaeo-spanish)being spoken in Israel.

i think of you would be good in doubting that the first public of the inhabitants is bilingual, and interior the implication that Israeli Arabs are plenty extra probable to communicate Hebrew than Israeli Jews are to communicate Arabic. i be responsive to from relatives of mine in Israel that there is a feeling between a minimum of a few Jewish Israelis that that is been a genuine mistake to no longer determine that each and every physique electorate learn Arabic.

like stated above, both are the official languages of the region. all arabs know hebrew, not all israelis know arabic. this is just because of what is needed to survive.

It was also stated above that the manual laborers are arab, the truth is that they are arab and sephardic, its kind of like how in the southern united states someone with a pickup truck will drive by and pickup mexican workers to do day work in contruction and such. its a well documented practice.
