I suppose.

However, let's suppose we're wrong. If there is a god then:
1) The god hates atheists and loves a particular sect of religious person.
2) The god likes that atheists think for themselves and hates religious people for coming up with such dopey stuff.
3) The god doesn't care one way or the other.

In that case, it looks like we have a decent chance of laughing at them anyway.

From the way that your question is phrased, with statements like "if we're right", I'm assuming that you count yourself among one of the worlds religion the believes in an afterlife or heaven.

I also assume, from the way your question is structured, that you consider yourself a Christian (or some denomination thereof) and are making the assumption that if the Christian rapture does occur that you will be one of those ascending to heaven.

Unfortunately, if my assumptions are correct, you and I (myself being an atheist), will probably both be in Hell because your desire to tell me "I told you so" would be your own admission that you want to stand in judgement over me. In the Christian faith, that would be a sin, as the right of judgement over man is held by God and God alone.

While you may have been right - God does exist and I was wrong - you end up the bigger failure. As I didn't believe in God I never had to worry about what God might think of me. Now if Hell I'm being punished for that. I can admit I was wrong. But you... you lived your life BELIEVING and you failed because you needed to feel superior and pass judgement on another. From where I stand, that punishment sounds much more painful.

I got snubbed by someone I never believed in.
You get snubbed by the God you were devoted to.

We won't be too upset about it because by the time we find out we're right we'll be dead.

well the way i see it...

for an atheist:

he is right and expected death....nothing more....no "heaven", no "God", no judgement day, and no floating around as spirit watching ur grandkids grow

he is wrong.....and dies from a fulfilled life doing good deeds but doubted God......when judgement comes, he'll just be like....oo u do exists.....sorry my bad...and since God's merciful and forgiving, the atheist will be in partying in heaven

for the believer:

he is right and goes to heaven

he is wrong and is GREATLY disappointed to find out that there is no God and he wasted his entire life living a fraud and basically his whole essence disappears since he is now just rotting away 6 feet under

atheist path seems like a safe path as long as ur helping others and staying away from sin

I asked this before and all the atheists turned on me and accused me of being a Christian.

Yes it does suck. There is no justice in being an atheist and being right. But who said the world is fair.

LOL!! Atheists are takin' this so lightly....Yeah I do wonder what will be really like. When believers will rise up to meet Jesus in the clouds.
Just like Elisha saw Elijah ascend...Disciples saw Jesus ascend...likewise the Atheist will see the believers ascend....and then
"EVERY Knee will bow and EVERY tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is the LORD"
Bible says "Every"
So regardless if you choose or not...you knees WILL give up!! and YOU WILL BOW ......

But don't worry, when the Atheists will die...they will stand before GOD, for the Judgment Day!!!

I take some comfort in knowing that all those religious bigots who spout their intolerance will be dead and rotting in the ground just like me.

Isn't the whole purpose of not committing to a religion so you can spend your life focusing on life rather than the meaning behind it? I don't need vindication in the end. I just need to know I didn't waste my life waiting for it.
