Specific things to look for is any behavior that does not seem normal to you. There's always a chance of a concusion, but there are also specific things to look for. One is if she starts acting really sleepy. You should actually try to keep her awake and alert for a while just to make sure she is being active. Another thing you can do is put an object in front of her face and make her follow it with her eyes making sure that her eyes stay aligned and straight and that she is able to follow the object steadily. If her eyes are shaky or she pauses to many times while you are moving the object that is not a good sign. Also look to see if her eyes are dialated and if they are to dialated that is another sign. You can check her as often as you like to make sure she has none of these symptons and that she is not sick and vomiting as well. If she does have any of these symptoms call the doctor back immedialtey.

I'm a mommy, and I know it is heartbreaking when a baby gets an "owwie", especially a baby. Seeing as how you dropped her only a short distance from the ground, the probability of something terrible is very slim. However, you are a very good mommy for taking such good care to make sure you're baby is okay, because even a short fall can cause egg-shell fractures or brain injuries which can result in behavioral dysfunction in later life. If your doc says baby is okay, then baby is okay, if you don't believe the doc, get a second opinion from a brain scan clinic, they can detect all sorts of things.

Dont be depressed!
Just be carefull!
Accidents happen to EVERYONE.
Terrible accidents happen to even the best of
people with the BEST of intentions.
What is MOST important is that you LEARN
from it.
Learn all you can about PROTECTING your
precious baby.
Learn what to expect in the next one to two years
so that you will be PREPARED to be a good mom.

That baby has really only ONE good person in all the
world that is gonna give it UNSELFISH LOVE
(that means that I love you no matter HOW you feel about
me, no matter what you call me, or how you treat me)
and that person is YOU. So, be kind to yourself.
Say a small prayer to god thanking him for seeing to it
that that baby was not hurt, and asking him to continue
to keep his umbrella of love over the both of you.
He forgives you, the baby forgives you, now you need to forgive yourself and move on.....
Good Luck!

Look for anything out of the ordinary... appetite changes, lazy eyes... you see anything you feel is weird, go to the doctor again, immediately. If it'll make you feel better, get a second opinion on the bump. I'm so sorry that happened... that's horrible. Good luck.

Awww. I am glad shes doing better. Things that the docotor wants you to look for is she starts being overly fussy, getting sick, not eating, crying alot. Things that she wouldnt do normally. If she has been ok up till now the chances of something happening later are slim. As for later in the future more then likely it wont even bother her later.

My mum did the same to me and was INCREDIBLY worried and guilty but when they took me to the hosp they said I was fine you have to trust your doctors advice and stop beating youself up it wont help you or her if you feel bad she may even pick up on it and it may worry her if you are worried

At the moment your maternal instinct will be going crazy and making you incredibly over protective this is totally normal in baby books I have read it says that its normal for mothers to think that everything will hurt their baby its a normal response to motherhood but pls trust your doctors advice. Im sure your daughter will be absolutely fine ;)

watch for vomiting, glassy eyes, lack of appetite. There all signs of a concussion or some kind of damage. Make sure you have a check up, and any odd behavior take her back ASAP it's better to be a worried wart.

Look for several things - restlessness, vomiting, unable to focus eyes, also did the Doctor say not to let her sleep for a few hours and keep an eye on her after she does go to sleep?? She should rouse easily..........don't worry I did the dame thing to my son only he also fell down a few cement steps!!! He's 30 now and goes strong........
