I own a Samsung Digimax D53 digital camera and I have had it for not yet a year. Last week, I took a picture and there are these strange lines on every picture I take now. Does anyone know what this is or how to fix it?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I can't tell for sure, because I don't know under what conditions you took the picture.
You should be sure your white balance is correctly set for the conditions . If it was a bright sunny day, you needed to have the white balance set for sun.

not seeing the images, it's difficult to say what is wrong. it could be foreign material on your ccd. it may be a problem with the detector, readout, or a connector.

I assume you've cleaned the lens and don't see any big scratches in it.

But - the downside is that whatever the cause of the problem, the solution is the same. you'll need to send it in to the Samsung authorized service center for repair, and it will probably be $100.

Sorry to say, you have to take it to the repair shop!! you should have try ed the camera when you first got it! Your big problem here is that the warranty that came with it is now VOIDED be cause your camera is older then 30 day's since you purchased it!! you still can have it fixed but you will have to pay out of pocket for it!!! this will not be a CHEEP FIX!! SORRY FOR THE BAD NEWS!!

Sounds like a problem with the CCD image sensor. If it's still in warranty, get it back to Samsung ASAP.
