he didn't have any friends so he created a universe. everything is going peachy until sentient lifeforms evolve. he thinks this is great so he befriends us,. but little did god know, his appearance would lead to the creation of religion.

god, realizing the consequences of his actions, storms off from the universe to go play chess with Buddha. no one has heard from him since.

Heh... very amusing. But unbearably unlikely. Oh and by the way- I don't think Buddha likes chess. :)

No. God is not a normal guy. Evolution didn't occur the way "science" would have you believe. There have been minor changes over time but these changes have limits. And the earth is too complex to have evolved. Actually, since God is Triune, He is perfectly fulfilled by Himself in a relational context. However, I think He was so overflowing with love that He created people to share that love with. And people hear from God all the time. You should hear all the testimonies in my church about answered prayers, often miraculously. It's really cool.

Well, you're right that God created the universe. Other than that, I doubt I can find another true statement in those two paragraphs.

That would defeat the idea of a God. If God were characterized as being a normal guy, he would no longer be God, he would be some guy that got over his head.

no way! that is the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard. God did not find human lifeforms He created them! and where did the buddha thing come from?? buddha is an idol mankind just created!

I lived in Normal for several years and I didn't meet anyone there who was anything like God.
