The average age for 9th grade is 14 and the normal range is 13-15.

If everyone had their birthday on the first day of school, then there wouldn't be any difference but since we don't, some people start school earlier or later than others.

Educational theorists suggest that 14 is the correct age to begin high school, personally I disagree and think it should be 13. The idea here is that maturity levels are significantly different from 7-14 and from 14-18. Many disagree and think there's a major difference between 7-11, 12-13, and 14-18. Many others (myself included) put those differences at 6-10, 11-12, 13-17, 18+

just a few thoughts. 13 is a great age to start high school. I did it. The bad thing is all your friends will be able to drive before you will. The cool thing is that you'll be younger than everyone else when you graduate and start college.

that is how old I was. Didn't turn 14 until November. It just sucks when all of your friends can drive and you can't.
