Look at Asian regions, those are peaceful non-violent places. People there are superstitious, but, never treat spirits as their lord or master. Instead, people always reward the do gooder spirits. If one spirit was considered to answer more prayers, it will get more food, tea and flowers.

On the contrary, when it comes to the power motivated organized religions, you have these years and years killings and corruptions.

Poor followers were told to be faith based. The end results are the creations of huge populations of shameless cowards in Islam, Christians, and catholics.

Wud the world be a betta place without religion? yes, people are still dumb and stupid, but there will be less ugliness from the religious scams.

Yes and no !! Historically, religion has its place, look at the 10 comandments, all have a purpose - thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not shag your neighbours wife etc. All basic rules for community living. If we all lived by these rules today then the world would be a better place. In todays society it seems to be every man for himself, if he can't get it by fair means then he will go and steal it. life today is far removed from the basics of religion so it becomes harder to apply them.

actually the world is a worst place because of religion..look at it like this..religion is a set of rule and rituals that are put in place by man to controls the existence of others through regulations. whereby if you don't honor the above mentioned you are ridiculed and made to feel like you are not worthy or accepted by the masses. religion differs from free will and spiritual service to God (or what you may believe in). not meaning you are a renegade but man has a way of trying to control you as to feel superior verses your service to God which by his spirit will lead you and guide you through your heart for a greater good!

I think its odd- Religion!

God must have a real strange sense of humour to have 3 major religions within 50 miles of one another.

How else to understand, Muslim, Christian, Jews are all in same region?

To rephrase your question, I think world be better if it (all of us) followed a sacred rule of loving one another without religious strife. Each religion teaches love and tolerance, yet each has a sect that believes only they know TRUTH, Justice, way to heaven.

Religions are a mixed bag.
Some produce fanatics.
Others, provide people with a sense
of hope and a feeling of belonging..
Balancing faith with reality might be
the best solution.

No but, it would be a MUCH better place if we followed these two simple commandments..Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Mark 12:28-31. There's no debating this.

God bless

Personally, I like my world with my Betta and Paradise Fish... but I also like my religion... If you don't, why not go to the science department and discuss some microbes?

Religion is NOT the thing that keeps humans civilized!

We all live in cities or towns that absolutely prohibit criminal activity! No murder, no theft, no assault, no drunk driving ..... these are all that humankind needs to retain civility.

yes. religion is nice when contemplating your own death or to deal with someone else's passing, but all and all it is detrimental to society. it causes people to not think rationally and become violent. for example; al quida, abortion clinic bombings, some cults. it denies people the opportunity to have an open mind and to not be bias.
