I stayed there for my 37th birthday - it's a nice, beautiful little town in Yunnan province....not much to do though unless you are into mountain hiking and yak herding.....probably a great place to learn Chinese or Tibetan language....good luck

Shangri-La the hotel (lovely place in Shanghai! a little far from all the fun places tho) or the actual place in the Himalayas?? The real place is very cold, I hear, but I'm sure it's nice to visit there...
