Ramen noodles and similar foods are good to eat occasionally--they are cheap, easy to prepare, fill you up fast.
But they have some things against them: they are basically starch (carbohydrate), salt and water.
Of those three, the one we usually don't get enough of is water. And you don't need Ramen noodles to get water.... ;-)
If you are trying to firm up or lose weight, probably Ramen noodles aren't the best diet food. They have no protein, no very few minerals (although sodium is a mineral, Ramen noodles give you lots more than you need), no vitamins, and no fiber.
It would be better to eat a balanced diet including a variety of foods from what used to be the seven food groups (and then it became four food groups--I don't know how many groups there are now! :-) ), with plenty of fluids, and be sure that you also get exercise (this is not the same as working out--better exercise is being physically active in activities such as sports or walking or swimming).

Sodium..about 25-30 g of carbs..it's not "good" for a diet really. If you make top ramen, add an egg! It's so yummy..and it becomes thicker like a broth. As you boil the noodles up, add the egg and let it cook through. Try it out.
Or take 1/2 the noodles, boil it without seasoning..cut some fresh chopped veggies and try into another pan (carrots, bell peppers, onions). Then cook a boneless chicken breat (cut into 1-2 inch pieces). Put everything together and add soy sauce, or terriyaki sauce. Use the ramen noodles, instead of rice.

The only good thing about Ramen noodles is that they fill your stomach when you're full, and they're cheap. Other than that, the flavoring pouch in the bag usually contains a lot of sodium and msg. I think it's best to stay away from them from just those two reasons alone.
Another option, is to cook the noodles, but toss away the flavoring pouch, and make your own soup base. That way, you'll be able to input your own ingredients and create a "healthier" noodle soup. Add some veggies to it.

They are tasty and cheap but ....
Each package contains about 1560 mg of sodium. 60% of US daily allowance.
To remove the water and form them into blocks, they are deep fried in palm oil which is about the most saturated fat there is.
