I had lost touch with my father who lived in dontown Manhattan for 40 years at the same building complex. Although we lost communication for many years, he was always listed in the phone book at that address. He is no longer listed and the complex could not tell me anything. He has vanished, at 80 years old, I'm thinking he either died or has been committed to an assisted living place. How can I find him or find out if he has deceased?

try www.legacy.com first. then if no luck mail a letter to the last address. It should be forwarded if he moved to a different location.

you can check the social security death index if you have the full name and birth date. if he's listed, you'll know what happened.
