anything is possible.
my grandparents have a .22 magnum and even with that I'm skeptical.
for coyote and bigger i would get a centerfire. i like the .223 Remington, .22/250, .222, or .243 Winchester. i don't like to door it, but you could also use the .243 for whitetail.
a pellet gun with at least 900 fps will kill a rabbit or squirrel, but probably not a groundhog, which have a lot of fat on them.
i personally like the .223 or a .22/250 for coyote.
hunting anything larger than rabbit/squirrel with a pellet gun is unethical.
broker knows what hes talking about.

There are pellet gun out there that can, and are legal ( in some states ) to hunt deer.
But these pellet guns are 50 caliber and are very expensive, as much or even more then a lot of regular center fire deer rifles.

The 177 and 22 with a pellet speed of 900 fps and higher are great for hunting small game rabbits and squirrels, but nothing bigger.

Sure it's possible, but certainly not possible to ensure anything close to a clean kill.

Shooting at a coyote with a pellet gun, even a reletively powerful .22 calibre one is very cruel. You're most likely just going to wound it and leave it to bleed and get infected and die a week later.

Gamo is advertising (the Hunter extreme) for $499.95 a 1600 fps pellet gun that took down a wild hog

seems like I would want to spend my money on something more useful

No, there is no way. A .22 cant hardly kill it and it moves faster and has more stopping power. Ive shot birds with pellet guns and they flew away.

With one shot, probably not. You will have to hit it repeatedly, which would be cruel and still may not kill it. Find a better solution to your coyote problem.

Unless you have one of the large bore, 9mm or larger, hunting air rifles, listen to Boker. When it comes to tha average air rifle, and all .177 or .22 pellet guns, Boker has nailed it solid!

the only way it would'nt be cruel is if you shot it with one of the best high power pellet guns that shoot .22 at 2000+ f.p.s.
