Don't count on it ! N. Korea is going on 57 years, and it's quieted down for now, but is it over ?

The Islamic jihad will not stop until it is completely destroyed. The quicker people wake up to that fact, the better off the non Muslim world will be.

In the meantime, we continue to let Muslims into our country's, build their mosques, spread their sermons of hate and destruction of the infidel. They build their armies with home-grown fanatics, and all you can think about is some meaningless percentage. Maybe 70% of the Americans should quit sitting on their brains and think this through a little deeper.

I believe that most of you who are opposewd to the war continuing, are simply afraid of the draft. Well, let me assure you, if this war continues for very much longer, there will be a draft. All of you who protest because you fear the draft, will probably be the first to be called up.

One bit of wisdom from someone who has been there and done that, start getting your body in shape, now ! Get rid of the twinkies and ice cream, start eating healthy foods. Boot camp will be so much easier if you follow my lead !

Vietnam was also a very unpopular war, and, after Nixon was elected on vague promises to end it ("Peace with Honor," 'Vietnamizing the war'), it took 4 years to get (almost) completely out. Two years later, Saigon was falling.

When the next President takes office in 2009, she (or he) is not likely to do a whole lot better.

Are you saying there's no democracy in this country?

Once the president is elected, he can do anything against his people's will, as long as he is not proved to be misleading. You have to wait for the next one and good luck.

Just like if you "volunteer" to get into army, then you're locked in for 4 years, it's not to let get out at your will, even if you regret your decision.

So.... lessons learned: think twice before you make a decision, and then suck it up until the next opportunity comes up - then don't make the same mistake again.

no it won't be over even if the democrats win the election, they will not withdraw the troops. the leaders in the government are privy to info that you and I aren't, but even with that common sense says it won't be over till it is over with.

Not gonna happen, unless you support leaving billions of dollars of US military hardware behind for terrorists to use.

Another blunder brought to you by Bush & Co.

The democrats control the purse, if they want to they can end it now. But I don't think they will do that, regardless of how many people want the war ended. It will end when the US decides it has been a success....! doesn't sound good huh
