that's Mary.

Anyway, you, and many other defamers of the Blessed Virgin Mary, would have us believe that God would simply use Mary, just so that she would give birth to Jesus, and then once she fulfills that purpose, He would toss her aside like a surrogate piece of trash? That is ridiculous.

Logically, Jesus, as the Second Person of the Divine Trinity, would have perfectly obeyed the commandment to honor one's mother and father.

Those of us who honor Mary, are simply imitating Jesus. We don't worship Mary.

Peace be with you.

Princess, why would anyone even think of worshipping a creature, no matter how noble they are? No Christians worship the Virgin Mary, that would be idolatry. She is called the mother of Jesus because she gave birth to him. As the Bible says, she is to be called blessed by all generations! Be a part of that and focus on her Son, Jesus.

Mary was a godly woman and obviously a believer. God chose her to be the mother of our Savior. Notice that it is God's sovereign choice which she accepts. Other than that, Mary the mother of Jesus is no different from any of us. Her sins needed to be forgiven just like ours. We can respect her as a person who trusted God. However, you do well that you do not worship her. Worship is reserved for God only.

Blessings,

jack

Jesus never told us to worship His mother but you should respect her for God picking her out of all the other girls in the world to deliver His Son. So your doing right by not worshiping her.

I personally don't think you're wrong in not wanting to worship the virgin Mary. There's only one God in whom we should worship. I praise her for the kind of person she is and the life she led and for her calling as the mortal mother of Christ, but I don't worship her.

Mary was the earthly mother of Jesus. Mary was not the "mother of God". God has no beginning and no end. Mary was chosen by God to bear Jesus. It was an honor given her.

That being said, nothing else in the bible....absolutely nothing...points to holding Mary up as co-redemptrix, which is what Catholic churches do...praying to Mary to intercede for them, or stating that Mary always stayed a virgin. These things have no scriptural basis.

We of course should call Mary blessed, she was! Blessed by God to be the vessel through whom Jesus was born. And that is all.

The Virgin Mary WAS the mother of Jesus, but she should not be worshiped. The only one to worship is Jesus Christ, not Mary.
The first commandment says: You shall have no other God's before me".
We clearly worship only God... not any human no matter how extrodinary they were.

Dear Princess,

Mary was a humble servant of the Lord. She is not the "mother of God" as some people say. God has no beginning nor does He have any end. Mary was just a servant that God chose to give Jesus a physical body. Mary was not sinless either. She was a sinner that needed a Saviour also. We read in Luke 1:46-55:

"And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
54 He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;
55 As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

Mary, a true servant of God, would never want to be worshipped. The Lord (Jesus) is the only One that should receive all praise, honor, and glory.

I believe in Jesus, and I believe that Mary existed (obviously), but I don't worship her (or venerate her). I respect her.
