I love sushi. There happens to be a great sushi place close to work. They deliver, so I order almost eveyday to eat during lunch time.

There's this coworker who I don't even talk to because she's such a bitter person.
I was eating my sushi when suddenly told me I was so disgusting for eating that. I didn't didn't paid attention to her.
Every time I ordered sushi she kept telling me I better not keep doing that or else.
I kept ordering sushi, and this other day she saw my sushi, and started to act as though she was going to throw up, and left to the bathroom because she needed to throw up.

She already went to my boss to tell her to make me stop eating sushi. So far, my boss hasn't told mne anything about it.

But I can't even enjoy my sushi in peace. If anything, she disgusst me when I se eher because she reminds me of the time she almost threw up in front of me.

She's such terrible person. What should I do?

Keep doing what your doing. I personally don't like sushi either, but I wouldn't want someone make barfing faces or noises while I'm eating something THEY don't like. Just ignore her, might be hard, but do it, she'll realize it's not getting a reaction out of you and hopefully she'll eventually stop. And about your boss, he/she can't tell you what you can and can't eat at work. That's probably why they haven't said anything to you.

It seems your boss isn't going to make you stop having a sushi, so you apparently can continue to order it. However, if the lady is making your lunch so unpleasant that you can't eat, I would call that harassment. You do NOT have to tolerate harassment on the job; the women obviously has a mental problem, as well, and now her problem is affecting other employees. It's time for a talk with the HR people, or your boss. It is the company's responsibility to protect its employees from all types of harassment while on the job. Good luck.
Or take your sushi somewhere else to eat.

Unless there is some sort of rule that you aren't allowed to eat sushi, you should continue to eat and enjoy your sushi.

I'm not sure why this girl would have a problem with it, perhaps she is vegetarian or something? Or are you eating at your desk and disturbing others? If so, simply take your lunch to the staff room or other designated eating area.

But regardless of what her problem is, you are entitled to have your lunch and be able to enjoy it in peace and quiet.

I don't eat meat or fish and find the strong smell of fish can sometimes be a bit too much for me ... perhaps you could sit away from her? If you already do, then she really has no right to threaten you!

If you find you cannot eat your lunch in peace, you have every right to approach your boss. In a quiet, calm manner explain that this girl's behaviour is disturbing you and you would like to resolve the issue.

You have as much right as anyone else to enjoy your meal without disturbance.

I'm sorry about this woman. Why not tell her that you would prefer that she kept her ignorant comments to herself. Sometimes people have to be told.
I really wish that you could stand to eat something that would REALLY make her throw up. LOL!
Ask her why she feels compelled to look at you. I don't know. I just never heard of anybody acting like this. I grew up in a multi cultural environment. Ask her if she'd like you to bring in some menudo (tripe stew) instead.

Don't worry about it on your end if your boss hasn't said anything to you. There are many companies now who have diversity training. Perhaps she needs some. Her actions are very offensive! Complain that you are being harassed, because you are!

I really hope that you add a comment later and tell us what you have done. Good luck!

Where do you eat your lunch? At your desk? In the company lunch room?

As far as I can tell, no one should tell you what you can and cannot eat. Your co worker's actions are immature and unprofessional.

If she acts as if she is going to be ill, tell her where the bathroom is. She needs to grow up.

If she is still making these comments to you, talk it over with your supervisor. He should talk with her about this. It is none of her business what you eat for lunch. If she doesn't like it, she can take a different lunch hour or eat in another part of the room.

So what I want to know is what does she eat that disgusts everyone else?

You are eating something that is not only enjoyable for you, but also fairly healthy. She, on the other hand, probably stuffs her face with artery-clogging fatty foods. Just as disgusting to some. Yet I doubt anyone gives her trouble for it.

I don't understand people who just don't get that it's ok to have different tastes. And that it's incredibly rude to make an issue of others for liking something they dislike.

Rant done. Thanks.

I'd do nothing. Eat sushi just as often as you would have before. Your boss is probably very annoyed by her petty whining and it's only going to reflect badly on her. Stay out of it completely.

Wow. Did she really think complaining to the boss would make you change your lunch preferences? Seriously. It probably just made her look childish and petty. It will come back to bite her soon, you won't even have to get involved. Keep your cool and don't play into her game. Enjoy your healthful lunch.

If you're eating your lunch in the designated eating area, she's got nothing to complain about. Your boss probably hasn't said anything because complaints about ethnic food in the workplace start to get into legal issues (discrimination against employees based on food choices that are tied to an ethnicity).

I would get a giant bowl of yellowtail sashimi over rice (with a nice layer of yummy dried seaweed) and eat it S-L-O-W-L-Y and with great rapture in front of her. Piece by piece. Moaning with pleasure at each bite.

When you see your boss make it a point to thank him/ her for respecting your right to eat whatever you so chose. It will affirm your stance on the situation and at the same time show appreciation for his actions.
