Atonement is NOT a "get-out-of-jail-free" card for people to do whatever they want. This is probably one of the most misunderstood and misused concept of Christianity.
Atonement does not just mean making amends for sins against God but the Changing of ones heart to God's Will. Atonement invoolves the complete and total realization of Christ's suffering and sacrifice on the Cross. It means accepting God's forgiveness and the knowledge that you cannot ever be "good" enough to get into Heaven but only through God's grace will we be with Him in Heaven.

Personally I do not believe in Paradise or Heaven or Hell or Limbo or Purgatory so my mind does not entertain the thought of living in company with all those possesors of evil spirit.
There is no God, there is only nature and nature and everything that is natural can be called God (if you absolutely cannot live with out believing in a supreme being).
Issaiah chapter 44 verse 8 says; Fear ye not, neither be afraid (of death) have I not told you from that time and have declared it? Ye are even my witnesses, is there a God (standing) beside me? Yea, there is no God - I know not any. (there is also, no Heaven)

There is no way that anyone who hasn't sincerely given their heart to the Lord Jesus Christ is getting into heaven. God knows a person's heart, and he knows if a person is genuine in their repentance. God cannot let sin in any form be in His presence, so, only those whose names are written in the Book of Life, by Him, will enter heaven, and HE is the judge, not any of us.

the only way that you can get into heaven is sincerely asking God forgiveness for your sins. On that note if those people did go to heaven then they asked for forgiveness so when they get into heaven they are good and humble so they are not that way but not everybody enters eaven some go to hell (those are the ones that don't ask for forgiveness) so they could not have gone in to heaven but it is your choice, heaven or hell

Why do you think gang bangers get into heaven?
If you killed someone and go confess to a priest but you let an innocent person be executed for your crime, you go straight to the hottest part of eternity.

God's grace is larger then mine, what can I say? I certainly wouldn't forgive Hitler for instance, but in Ezekiel it says that the Sovereign Lord takes pleasure in the death of no one.
God would forgive sins I would not, he also condemns sins I would not. But my word does not overrules, so all I want to do is make sure I conform to his word. If he would even possibly condemn Gandhi, I do not want to be found on God's bad side.

The "state of grace" theory is a recent concoction. Jesus never said he died so that people could keep on sinning. Then "sin now, pray later" plan is false.

Jesus said that if you are angry with your brother you are guilty of murder in your heart. (Matthew 5:21&22) One can only get into heaven if they REPENT of their sins and trust in the Saviour.

Better to be in Heaven with the forgiven than spend eternity in Hell with the unforgiven.

Jesus said you are a murderer if you've ever been angry at another person without cause. Therefore we're all murderers in God's eyes.
