It was a very popular name in the late 80's, early 90's. I like it. I know 2 Ian's that are now 20, and 3 that are 15.

It's a grand Scottish name, but make sure it fits with the child's personal heritage and his surname. An Ian Gonzalez would have some explaining to do.
