Given the choices...probably my nose.
Please quantify the word "Some".
So some would be the majority.
I wouldn't legalize them, but would instead allow them to come work here being paid at least minimum wage as guest workers with a nationally recognized ID for a fixed duration of time.
Since that choice isn't there, I'll stick with the nose. :)

There would be no significant difference between those two options. Legalizing SOME of the illegals would be turned into legalizing MOST of the illegals. Then they have rights to petition to bring millions more of their family members here. Of course we would want to make travel between the US and Mexico super convenient so that we wouldn't be accused of separating families. And presto! The North American Union becomes a fact of life, one way or the other. Don't forget that we would need tons of natural resources for all these people, and that's where Canada fits into the equation.
Legalizing the majority of illegals or the NAU would likely lead to the draft being reinstated. We need the excess population to conquer the world. Err...I mean win the war on terror.

Unless and until we are ready to forgive or parole every fraud perp in our prisons and every robber who is serving jail time or on probation for stealing to feed his family or because he wants a better life or every child abuser for endangering his/her child by placing them in a dangerous situation or using them to further their own illegal purposes, then we should not legalize any lawbreaker, PERIOD! I agree with those who claim our third option is to fight. I'm fighting and my friends are fighting. We're pounding congress and our government with e-mails, faxes, letters, and personal visits demanding to have our laws enforced. We're also demanding that illegal immigrants be deported -- no exceptions. We want the salaries of all government officials who are not doing their jobs and enforcing our laws impounded and withheld. We have to obey the laws of the land or we will have tryanny. We already have 12-20 million illegal immigrants and their supporters trying to enslave the law-abiding citizens and calling for death to the elderly white Americans. These people are common criminals and we cannot give them any choices other than those that go with enforcing the laws of the land and upholding their oaths of office. ALL ILLEGALS MUST BE DEPORTED and there is no reason why they can't be deported. It's simply a sell-out government that is standing in the way.

If I had a choice between the two I would pick legalizing some but being that our government can't give us ultimatums like that, I pick neither.

Just so you know that the majority of them do not want to live here. They just want to come work, and then go home to their families that are south of the border annually. Another tid bit from Congress.
As for learning from this United, but separate Governments as summermoondancer put it... Think again.

You mean North American Union? Why would that be a bad thing? The EU has tromped the dollar into worthlessness with the Euro and their uniting into the EU. They are all seperate governments but are united. I think we have a lot to learn from them if we want to remain a world power.
WE have no choice but to change our immigration policies because you can deport till the sun goes down and before it comes up more than you deported will return. We will go bankrupt if we try deportation as our only policy.

I really don't know much about this NAU or why it's good or bad. So that means I'll would choose legalizing some of the illegal immigrants, which is what I had in mind this whole time.

Given that ultimatum, there'd be an unspoken third choice -- to fight. I'm too old to fight, except with my VOTE of course, but I would certainly not choose either of those two. I suppose they'd have to summarily execute me.
