Funnily enough, we're not actually at work 24/7 which may come as a shock to some members of the public. Especially those that make sweeping generalisations about people they know nothing about.

Why can Police not use Yahoo answers - they are like everyone else on this site - have days off - time when they are not working and are at home relaxing !
Why should you call the Police corrupt if they go onto this site - you really are unbelievable !
You say you are a great believer in law and order and the police force but your statement here shows nothing but contempt for the police
Get a life instead of trying to complain about something that is just in your head - better still have a word with your doctor I really think you need help as you seem so paranoid

Ha! ha! ha! Very funny, you should be a comedian!!!
Unfortunately for you I am not going to rise to your bait, but answer in calm and restrained manner.
Hi everyone I'm Bear (strictly a nickname), and it would appear I've upset our question asker. I say that in the very loosest of terms because the vast majority are not actually questions but merely meaningless rants, with little thought, that attract many negative responses (You'd think he'd get the message). His answers attract a similar amount of thumbs down. You only have to look at this question (debatable) to see all the negative responses he / she gets.
I like most people come on Yahoo answers in my own time. Mostly when Big Brother is on!!! Believe it or not but I do get time off. Despite that I would still do what I believe to be my duty when off duty. I would quite happily tackle an offender or do what was neccessary in the circumstances. I wouldn't turn a blind eye.
As for corrupt..... no, never!! Niether do I know any corrupt officers. I would gladly turn them in if I did.
I am quite surprised that you say you are a firm believer in the Police and law and order. All your previous rants suggest you are a Police hater. Your rants are generalisations based on what? Your experiences? No, probably based on what you've heard or read in the papers. Please don't believe everything you read. Yes, there are bad apples, like in any profession. Make no mistake I am not one of those.
So thank you for mentioning me and I look forward to your next rant.
PS. Thank you to all those people out there who posted replies. They give me faith that my own thoughts on this person are most probably right.

Just who the h*ll are you to tell me what I can or can't do when I'm off duty? What gives you the right to cast aspersions on me and talk about police corruption? I can give myself any name I want on YA and I don't have to get your approval! Don't lie and say you are a believer in law and order and a great believer in the police, because obviously you don't. Bent coppers? (Whatever that is supposed to mean). I don't know and I don't care how old you are, but you need to examine your attitudes and do a little growing up.

Um because they have time off, like the rest of us and just find it interesting/ entertaining/ informative- like we all do?! And surely if they work protecting the public, then being in touch with the public- through Yahoo Answers or otherwise- can only be a good thing. They do a damn hard job, so what is the problem with them spending a little spare time on here? Your question seems kind of pointless really. It makes no sense and has no factual evidence to back up any of the points you are making. Try asking something more sensible next time.

i would be if i had time to use Yahoo answers during work time but alas.... would be spied upon and sacked..... so like most police people do it in my own time - bit sad but it's either this or Big Brother.......!

1. SOME of the 'officers' on here are not officers.
2. Police get time off too.

Whats the matter got a ticket from a cop that was on duty and not on yahoo.
Everyone even cops get time off and breaks.
Gee if you are not on medication you need some.
I know you got a DUI and they were picking on you.
The bad coppers are in the minority;
Sounds like you are messed up.
Be glad they are here and not knocking on your door.

One of the great things about this site is the anonymity it offers. Right now there are murderers, rapists, robbers, kiddy-fiddlers, drug dealers & God knows what else hiding behind the cute little avatars we all use. If the boys in blue want to join in, hey, why not?
