You can ask the phone company to look into your records and give them the specific date and time and let them know you're being harassed. Of course sometimes they are rather lazy and will tell you to wait until it happens again... or continuously.
You can also ask them to put a trace on your phone so that ANY call that comes in will be traced.

GOOD LUCK!

It depends on if it was to your cell phone or your local phone. (I am not sure about a lanline phone) but if you have a local phone and they called that, I would get the date and time of the call, and call the phone company to report it. They should be able to trace the call, however I don't know if they will give you the information or just hand it to the police.

These codes will help you.
http://www.yashy.com/star.codes.html
Dial *77 for Anonymous call rejection (wont let them call you anonymously) *87 to disable it.
Dial *57 for Call trace after the call, but before you get another incoming call.
Dial 1-877-trace-4-u to get in touch with the unlawful call center for further help and info.

I'm not sure if all the star codes are free but you can call your phone provider to find out.

The Phone company may be able to trace if it is another land line. Usually they want a court order. if its a generic prepaid cell....Probably no chance at all
