Is that correct?

you could also say: Es-tu au Japon maintenant? /
Tu es au Japon maintenant, n'est-ce pas?


but if you wanted to be more formal, you would have to say:

Est-ce que vous êtes au Japon maintenant? /
Êtes-vous au Japon maintenant? /
Vous êtes au Japon maintenant, n'est-ce pas?

You can realize that, in French, we can say the same thing in many different ways...

Yes, it is perfectly correct. You could also say "Es-tu au Japon maintenant?"

If you happen to be speaking informally to several people or to any number of people you should address formally, you should say "Est-ce que vous êtes au Japon maintenant?" or "Êtes-vous au Japon maintenant?" Sorry to be picky about it, but it really is important to use those accent marks!
