There are different ways to obtain "peace". You can have peace when people with different backgrounds, identities, and views live together in harmony, and you can have peace when people with different backgrounds, identities, and views have been eliminated so that there is really only one people and way of looking at or doing things.
What is your religion, and what are its views on and methods of pursuing peace?
Please verify that this is a teaching or pursuit of whatever religion you are writing about with examples. If you are bashing a religion rather than writing about your own, please don't forget to make citations from their religious doctrine as evidence. If I wanted a message board, I would have gone to one. In an effort to create an incentive, un-cited answers will be ineligible for "Best Answer".

Peace = no contention, no war, no arguments, no fighting, no anxiety, no hateful behavior. If so, then:
Peace between all people and inner peace in our own hearts.

As a pagan, I follow the path of Asatru ( I worship the Viking deities), I pursue peace by obtaining knowledge. As ignorance leads to intolerance through not understanding. I also have friends of different religions, other pagan paths as well as christians. Pagan religions do not have set views, it is up to the practioner to go out there and explore and make informed choices. Tolerance leads to peace,
“Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.” Exodus 22:18
An example of how ignorance of a peaceful religion led to mass intolerance which still exists in the supposedly enlightened 21st century.

You assume too much.
You assume that we all have a religion.
A huge amount of us do not.
Thus, your question is invalid for a high percentage of this audience.
Do you wish to rephrase to incude atheists or is this a biased question, excluding those who deny the existence of any god?
As a rider, I would suggest that peace is more likely were there no religion at all. Agreed that men would still come to blows over other things but the belief in an extraordinary supernatural magic sky fairy has done no good at all for peace so far and I suspect that things are just getting worse.
How much common sense does it take for the deluded to come to their senses?

You phrased your question in two parts and so I answer in two parts.
The most important peace is the inner peace that comes from the testimony and witness of the Holy Ghost, known as the comforter. We can be at peace within ourselves even though the whole world is falling apart at the seems. This comes from living a righteous life and praying for that spiritual guidance and comforter to be with us.
The second peace is the peace that the whole world will enjoy when they all kneel down and confess that Jesus is the Christ. A uniformity of belief and conformity to the laws of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In other words, personal peace first and societal peace second when all the people have discovered the source of personal peace.

My religion is the Baha'i Faith. I could go on and on about it's views, but it's probably much better for me to go and show you the link to an official website that gives all the information you need about it. The problem is, make sure that if you're going to a different website, make sure it's legible, because there are a lot of websites out there with false staments (they create lots of misunderstandings of our faith)

If everyone would get away from religions that have violence in the Bible and Quran both for example, we could come to our senses and see that wars and blood solve nothing. but as long as we go by books that think God wants us to kill each other there will never be peace

As a pagan, I look for spiritual growth. The kind that will follow me into the next life, till I have achieved all my soul was wanting to learn.

ultimately, general calmness in a storm (a trial, a hardship, a problem). you'll never like everybody, so don't try. two conflicting ideas can never co-operate successfully, so don't try.
Godly peace is basically defined as a calmness caused by the assurance of God's provision and care brought by trust in God.
