We share 98% of our DNA with chimps, the big band theory, dinosaurs and evolution. I believe in Allah, but won't ignore science.

Allah is all knowlegable and wise, so surely he created it all too. He knows what we don't know.

Educate me please, I'm genuinely interested.

What I mean is.. when you start to build a house, it doesn't look like a house to begin with, does it? It takes time and work. So when Adam and Eve were created, they were just the first phase of what the human race would become 10's of thousands of years later. Humans did not look as we do today even 1,000 years ago, and certainly not 10,000 years ago. It's an accepted fact, we became humans when we started to think outside of the box. When we started to create artwork for no other reason than we just wanted to. I agree I need to read the Qur'an to completion and speak to someone who can explain things to me, the way the Qur'an is meant to be. Thank you all for your understanding and help.

the trouble is, if you do think that god set up all the dominoes and his part was only to push the first domino, you're in disagreement with the majority of muslims (and theists in general). but if you're ok with that, well more power to you. natural laws such as evolution and gravitation may be sufficient, so that the universe doesn't require divine intervention, but science is not equipped to rule out a divine plan. for the moment at least, there is not *necessarily* a dire conflict between science and religion.

"Over 2 hundred years ago the knowledgeable and "scientists" of their day said the world is flat."

i don't think so tim. perhaps 5 thousand years ago, and you'd be correct. without observing ships masts appearing over the horizon, or lunar eclipses or the like, it makes sense to think that the earth is flat. it also makes sense to change your mind when more evidence comes in, as scientists have done and religionists stubbornly refuse to do.

" as far as I know many scientific advices are now given whose indications were written in Quran already."

but this is ignoring science. it is replacing science with the appearance of science. it's an illusion.

you can't believe in 2 opposite things. Study the Quran more and keep an open mind when reading the Quran...by the way, in recent findings, there have been some evidence of evolution not occuring.....but thats just opinion based as well. Learn both sides with an open mind.

I agree partially with Sen. You can't believe in both. You either believe what "Allah" says or what man says. If you believe in both, you're calling "Allah" a liar and that man wasn't created the way it says.

Science is imperfect and always changing. Over 2 hundred years ago the knowledgeable and "scientists" of their day said the world is flat.

I believe that God (or Allah) works through science. But, scientists don't have the understanding that He does. They have many "theories", not definites. That's what evolution is, a threory, not definite. See Yahoo News "Fossils challenge old evolution theory".

sigh. We do not descend from apes, we have the same ancestors.

And why can't you believe that centuries of rewriting - and the fact that God's mind is so much bigger than a man's mind - made the religious texts change, and that they are more teaching tools than total truth? That's how one of my believer friends explained to me his ease with evolution. Man cannot hope to understand all of God's mind so restraining yourself only to those written words is refusing to accept that he is bigger than that and able to be responsible for the arrival of life in the primal soup.

I still find this the best explanation ever.

I see a good advice is there(Think i should follow that too.. READ QUARAN). That should give you answer of some questions, problem is : are we enough fit to understand..
We have limitations, a doctor doesnot know engineering, an engineer doesnot know anatomy...so with this limited brain, I dont know how far can we think..because I think we are confined to limited dimension and cannot feel beyond that.
NOw about chipmunks and dinosours, who said we contain dino-genes!!!! thats ....not correct(00ps) .. We are definitely descendents of Adam and Eve(Hawa).
Monkey group has some similarity with you,me so what?!
A dino had four legs and a lizard also has four legs, at least some similarity are there...so are they relatives!!!? Mr. Darwin found some similiarity but stating that human came from monkey is an insult! In that case apart from physical change, at least the monkey should have a human intelligence by now.
Finally I object to your statement of cant ignore science, who said to ignore science, as far as I know many scientific advices are now given whose indications were written in Quran already.

Step one, read the Quran. If you believe in Allah you cannot pick and choose what you believe your either on the fence or your off. Allah says we came from Adam and Eve they where not chimps last time i checked. The quran is full of science including the big bang. 98% is not the same as 100% now is it?
You are free to believe humans decended from Apes if you like but if you believe in God then you have to listen to Gods words and believe in his word. Simple as that. Muslims do not ignore science far from it we embrace it and we too believe science is from God he created it all after all.

PS There is no proof in "science" we eveloved from chimps that is why their is a "Missing link" There is no link thats why its missing....................

Allah created nothing. There is no allah.

There is only the God of the bible and His son. No, "allah" is not another word for God. If "allah" were the God of the bible, he would have a son, Jesus, who died on a cross, rose again, and is the only way to salvation.

Islam denies all this.
