Not only does evolutionary theory not require faith, it looks down on it. So no, evolution is about as far from a religion as you can get.

Michael- out of curiosity, where exactly does the bible mention evolution? Or Darwin? Or science? I'd be really interested to see that passage!

Evolution is not a religion, but a theory. Atheism is a religion that supports Evolution. So is the same in Creation. Many Religions support Creation.
I do wish they would bring Christian teachings back in our schools. I can only pray that God's will be done. Maybe our country will learn from it's mistakes.

Evolution is a fact and a theory. The "theory" aspect of it addresses how it works, which gets updated with new information. The fact that it does work and is how life came to be complex over millions of years is universally acknowledged by all but the most brainwashed denialists.

Since evolution has nothing to do with faith or god, it is not a religion. It does not take faith to "believe" in evolution. It takes a simple education and an open mind to see that it is obviously true.

Evolution is not religion. It is scientific and has been proven far beyond theory. The origin of man via evolution does yet remain theory though.

It is not a religion. It is a systematic study of the mechanisms producing the diversity of life on Earth. It is tightly based on evidence. The fact that is contradicts some unfounded religious doctrines does not make it a religion.

Evolution is part of science, and specifically is a scientific theory. Thus it is taught in science class. It is in no way a religion.

The theory of evolution is as religious as number theory. That is to say, they're both science and not religion.

Sigh.

No, it's not a religion. Religion requires you to take things on faith, meaning without proof. Evolution is a well documented, reproducable, fully supported by evidence, scientific theory.
