Do not equate upbringing with brainwashing, there is nothing particularly in common between them. The fact that most people think their religion is the correct is just a part of our nature. Whether you are Christian, Muslim, Sikh or any other religion all the way through to agnostic and atheist, human ego plays a large part.

Basically people tend to find a "religion" that they feel comfortable with and tends to support their own beliefs. So in a sense it is not the region that makes the poeple, but the poepl that make the religion. Religions taht are part of a cultural heritage often create the stongest proponents (i.e. Muslim) while people whose culture embraces a number of variations are often more likely to change (Christian, specifically the Western world). Actually, when you get down to it, religion is based upon faith and, in a broad sense even atheists can be said to be religious. We all believe in something, even those who claim not to, since that is their belief.

Is it what the Apostles taught? How well does it line up with the teachings that are in the Bible. The Bible has never been proven wrong. It is being proven every day with science, archeology, poeple trying what the scriptures say. Religion will only get you a headache. RELATIONSHIP with the Living God, now that is something to celebrate! That is worth getting up in the morning let me tell ya! Letting my Lord and Savior work through me is just plain exhilarating!

because if they didnt, they would swich religions until they find the one which they think is correct, bringing a balance where religious people and religions match. Would there be any other way?

i don't know. thats a really hard question, im christian, and i always saw it as theres god... but people have different ideas about him and how to follow him. but that doesn't make them any less of a child of god. ya know? and no, religion is not brainwashing. that really offends me, but w/e. god is universal, people just need faith.

The answer is self evident. If religious people didn't think their religion was correct they'd switch to one they did think was correct. Am I correct?

brain-washed/brain-dead from their religious beliefs.

Go beyond religion and do this:

Have UnConditional Love and Peace by accomplishing this:
Create Your Relationship with Our Creator.

UnConditional Love and Peace is the only answer.

I think it's because every human being is wired to seek truth. Some find it, some don't, some lie about it, and some are deceived. But truth can't be found in religion. Only in God. God is not a man that he should lie. :)
