A lady came out of a stall in the men's room the other day and proceeded to chew me out for being in the ladies' room. I promptly pointed at the ROW of urinals on the wall and asked her how many of those she has ever seen in a ladies' room.

Is it possible that this guy had made an honest mistake and simply didn't know which restroom he was in?

You did the right thing by not calling attention to his mistake. It probably would have embarrassed him to death of you had told him he was in the wrong bathroom! It is also possible it could have been a women dressed as a man. My daughter wears her hair super short, and only dresses in men's clothing. She gets mistaken for a guy all the time. She isn't gay, just was really abused at school growing up because she is slightly retarded. Due to being pushed down on the cement playground and skinning her knees daily she finally began wearing boys clothing and just never stopped.

You did the right thing. I am sure you were shocked, but still, it wouldn't have been polite to call attention to the mistake, if it was one.

Have a great day!

No, but I did once use the men's room. I was totally oblivious. My daughter was still very young and not sleeping much. I was so embarrassed! Luckily, I don't think anyone saw me-though there's a good chance I just totally missed that, too.
He is probably greatful that you didn't mention it. More than likely, it was a mistake that he didn't realize until AFTER leaving the restroom. You probably did him a favor!

No...But it's happened the other way around.
I walked into the mens room and didn't realize it and while I was in the stall doing my own thing...I heard a man in the stall next to me talking to his son and then I felt stupid.

Were you in the ladies room? I'm sure upon realizing there weren't urinals in there he kind of figured he'd just pretend like he had done nothing wrong, that's what I would do!

It might have been a lady in drag.
I probable couldn't have resist saying something, perhaps, "am I in the wrong one or you'?
