Hi,Orph
There is no such a thing as "the end of war''!
Unfortunately,we will always have a war somewhere in the planet.
You know...play rough=business with high profits.
The idea of war is cultivated, especially with the PC Games, the majority of them have as theme the strategies of war.

World peace is unrealistic due to human nature, therefore it is an unattainable goal. There will always be a desire in some humans to attacks others for no reason or for misunderstandings. With different and opposing religions present in the world, wars and fighting are pretty much a guarantee. Complaining about and trying to stop every war and battle that occurs is not an effective approach to creating or spreading peace. In fact it may help out or aid someone or some group that intends to cause further violence and destruction. You cannot stop people from attacking you by killing them with kindness. It's a pipe dream.

Well i think you will be waiting a very long time for that to happen. Maybe it could happen through a period of enlightenment (no, not religion), when we as a race, realize that to fight over religions, land, food, water and any other petty reasons is just pathetic.
Then we could focus on what is important, the advancement of our race (and i mean one race, not races). To become a great people as a whole.
If all the wars that raged around the world were to stop today, we ceased production of weapons and all that money/resources were funneled into helping those less fortunate, with in a short time there would be no hungry or homeless and over time a lot of illnesses and diseases could be cured.
We don't need religion/s or countries, we need to cooperate and we will all survive and prosper.

The Iraq war or war in general?
We will have peace over the entire earth under God's Kingdom. It is the only way as humans have tried every form of government there is and failed miserably to govern themselves. Every effort made is too short sighted to work for everyone.
The Iraq war is a prime example. No thought was made as to what to do after reaching the capital or how to rebuild. As a result, the US has made many more enemies for decades to come and a money hole they can't escape from for decades as well.
Only those who had a hand in Creating us have a decent shot at solving our problems with each other and the enviorment.

there IS no solution for world peace- humans are tribal, thus the focus on patriotism/religion/family in nearly all Human cultures, this tribal instinct means most humans are prone to violence and confrontation: furthermore the fear that exists in the world will never end- both Britain and America went to war simply because they were overly suspicious of Iraq- people died for the suspicions of a group of men. the 1st world war was caused simply because The french, British and Russians were suspicious of Germany who thought the rest of Europe was ganging up on her- these disagreements happen in primary school playgrounds every day- it's just a different and more disastrous result but it will never stop.

"the war" or just "war"?
If you're talking about "the war", I assume you mean the war in Iraq and I give another 5-10 years.
If you're talking about "war" as a general state, I doubt we'll ever get over that. Most wars are fought over resources and as the earth gets more and more populated and our resources more scarce, wars will probably get more frequent instead of the other way around.

When everyone understands we are all equal and religion doesn't play a part in human freedom. When people learn to discuss and not use weapons. When money and power are not as desired as Spiritual walk with YOUR creator. When universal love it the true language. When people learn freedom by force is not freedom. We will have peace.

you mean a solution to get a world in peace? for everyone to agree on a singal and peaceful religion and follow it to the point... but the problem is the way in which to get to the solution, which is invariably war or divine interference.... most likely war or war by divine interference.... and an EXTREMELY bloody war at that
