Elvis' mother Gladys had Jewish blood. In Judaism if the mother is Jewish then the child is also. Elvis was raised in First Assembly of God. At one time he lived in a Jewish area and used to go to the rabbis house on the Sabbath and turn lights on for them and do other things since they were very religious and wouldn't do any work at all on the Sabbath. Elvis had some Jewish jewelry and when asked why he joked it was better to be safe. He also gave a lot of money to Jewish charities in Memphis. One charity he gave $150,000 and they thought it was a mistake when looking at the check but he told them he knew what he was doing. So, you can make the case for Jewish blood and respect for Judaism, but he was a Christian. When asked how he liked being the king of rock n roll, Elvis said the Only King was Jesus.
God Bless.

Elvis Presley was Jewish and he knew it. In fact, the night he died he was wearing a Star of David. His mothers mother was Jewish but was secular. They raised his mother Baptist. She and Vernon raised Elvis protestant. Being Jewish was something you kept quiet back then. His handlers advised him to not mention it.
His family now readily states he was Jewish. The Jewish nation uses the mothers lineage to show you are Jewish. His mothers mother was Jewish. Even though she did not continue the faith the was still Jewish and so was Elvis. Because Elvis is male and married a Gentile, his daughter is not considered Jewish.
I believe his family tree is available at Graceland or it used to be.

FYI- you cannot be "1/2 Jewish"- you either are- through your mother's lineage- or you're not. Technically, Elvis was even though it hadn't been practiced in his family for a long time.
