i agree honda civic. I am 17 and I got a honda civic last year. Ive been driving over a year and Ive never wrecked. I spend about 30-35 in gas to fill it up and hondas are good cars. you won't have to worry about taking to the mechanic every month.

Volvo makes very safe, fuel efficient cars. Otherwise, look into a used Toyota Camry or a Honda, both excellent cars.

you should consider insurance cost of the vehicle as well, unless there is an adult in the household who will be considered the primary driver of the vehicle.
A four door sedan like the Nissan Maxima has a good combination of lower insurance cost, decent performance, and good reliability. I suggest purchasing a manual transmission version for improved performance and fuel economy.

Jaguar XJ-6
This one is only $2,800 with automatic and a 6 cylinder for fuel economy. With the extra $7,200 he can get a Thumping Stereo and cool tires. Maybe get a good deal on some spinner wheels. ;-)

If he want newer, I am sure he find a Jag for $8,000.

first off toyotas are known as the best working cars out there.
and hondas are like 2nd best, but yeah most honda civics are known to get stolen because other teens or young adults tend to steal them to fix them up to race in. so yeah definetely a toyota (most likely a compact car.)
