Hey - If you were getting gvmt money to study "global warming" you would say it's real and we're doomed if we don't spend more money right away with out thinking about it first. Right?

That movie is trying to brain wash you. Most of what they say in that movie is wrong. They present a lot of facts about the Earth's climate. BUT they leave out the whole picture and then interpret the facts to present the view that want.

For instance: When they talk about the period of global cooling from 1940 to 1975 they fail to mention that the cooling was caused by fine particles in the upper atmosphere. These particles were mostly sulfur compounds released into the atmosphere by burning fuel. They stayed suspended in the upper atmosphere and they were able to reflect sunlight back to space before it could become heat.
The reason the earth stopped cooling is because we learned to use fuels that contain less sulfur and we started the filter the gas released by smoke stacks.

This movie flaunts a lot of people with good credentials but these people DO NOT represent the majority. Also, they were nicely paid for their appearance.

Scientists are getting paid well for their work in the climate change field. Oil companies, auto makers, coal companies, and countless other companies would loose far more money than all the scientists in the world will ever dream of if nations start passing legislation to reduce carbon emissions. These companies but out films like this to protect their own wallets.

When scientists call something a theory they are very certain that it is true it just means that no one is able to definitively prove it.

The swindle video is nonsense. It's the "brainwashing".

Here are two detailed scientific explanations of why the "science" in it is wrong.

More:

The British press took it apart:

"A Channel 4 documentary claimed that climate change was a conspiratorial lie. But an analysis of the evidence it used shows the film was riddled with distortions and errors."

"Pure Propaganda"

Even the channel which broadcast it thinks it's wrong. If you go to their website on the movie it says "Confused now? Ask the Expert", with a link. The questions go to a mainstream scientist who says global warming is mostly caused by man.

So, why did they broadcast it?

"The science might be bunkum, the research discredited. But all that counts for Channel 4 is generating controversy."

The Swindle is little more than a propaganda film.

"So, in summary, there are claims that old superseded data is used and highlighted, that the latest and most up-to-date data and scientific opinion is ignored, that incorrect conclusions are drawn, that statements are made without attribution, and that at least one researcher's views have been edited and placed in a way misrepresenting the point he was trying to make. These are just a few of the charges that can be found against the film. And this is the basis for a supposed swindle of massive proportions."

I think we do have a degree of global warming. The facts are out there, but I also think the media is over hyping things also.

because the "truth" isn't working.

anyone who disagrees is:

a moron
works for big oil
a car manufacturer
a simpleton
wrong
doesn't understand
can't read
a rogue scientist
not mainstream
has no compassion for the enviroment
selfish
lazy
doesn't care about future generations.

or, in other words, they don't like people really understanding the issue and using common sense.

"just drink the kool aid and we'll all get along"
