A chemical weapon is a chemical like saran or nerve gas and kills in short order by a toxic reaction. Biological weapons are organisms that cause disease and usually take much longer. They tend to be more debilitating because they remove combatants to treat the affected people whereas a chemical weapon that causes immediate death only affects those exposed and does not drawn down numbers because of the caregivers. Nuclear radioactivity would be a chemical weapon that can cause longterm effects.

Chemical weapons are inorganic (non-living), while biological weapons are organic (living organisms).

Chemical weapons are human made. There are different types: choking agents (chlorine, phosgene, tear gas), blister agents (mustard), blood agents (cyanide), and nerve agents (tabun, sarin, VX). Chemical agents can be persistent (long lasting) or non-persistent (short term effectiveness).

Biological weapons occur in nature, developed with increased lethality and/or transmissibility. Either viruses or bacteria is used to infect people. The danger to humans to that bio weapons can be transmitted to other people aside those originally infected. For several bio weapons, vaccines are available. There are no vaccines for chemical agents, but there are antidotes.

Chemical weapons are just that--weapons that have chemicals in them, like acid or tear gas.

Biological weapons, on the other hand, are weapons that have biological agents in them--like a bomb that explodes and spreads smallpox germs all over the place. Both will kill you in various messy, unpleasant ways.
