It's 'capital G' ... the word is God, which is his 'name' (although the Bible says His name is 'I am' or Jahweh) ... the reason we capitalize it is to 'separate God' (who is 'real' to many of us as our 'only god') from the word 'god' which implies the 'ancient gods' who were not 'divine' ... they lived in 'this universe' while God lives in 'another universe' from ours ... we call that universe 'Heaven.'
A 'capitol' is the 'seat of power' in a city, state, or country, which may be why you are 'a bit confused' by whether it's a 'capital' G, or a 'capitol' G.

I'm flabbergasted @ the # of ?'s in this forum that could be simply answered by just doing a little, basic research on your own. According to Webster's Dictionary, a capital letter is: G, H, I. Capital -- Upper case letter OR the city which houses the seat of government.

Capitol -- The actual building where state or federal legislature meets.
