Yes some still issue the KA-Bars to normal grunts.
But most Special Forces Units are going wit S.O.G ( Special. Operation. Gear)
The army rangers in 2001 was issued the S.O.G Seal pup.

The second amendment is the ultimate check and balance on the US govt. The problem is this. Many americans have no idea who they are voting for, they get a choice, good looking obama, ugly old mccain, they vote obama, they had a choice before, easy going bush or nerdy gore, they chose bush. These decisions are not made on the intellectual level, but are merely a combination of big brother and beauty padgents to make the richest popularity contest in the world. So the people need something for when they make a mistake, to make sure that their mistakes don't take their constitution down. If people actually knew what was going on, they might not need their guns, but then every democracy is ruled by an uninformed electorate, that is the way it goes. What would bush have done had he been able to take over the whole country?? Personally i think he would have been too lazy, but then they say hitler was lazy as well, just a dreamer.

USMC usually prefer the KaBar Bk2 knife. Special Forces including SEALS used SOG seal pups for a while. Some still do. Most popular knife that I've seen guys bring over themselves is the Gerber LMF2. Best knife I've ever seen or used...and I have used many. The bk2 by KaBar is thicker but the LMF2 definitely had enough strength to it. All are nice. But go for the LMF2 by Gerber. You won't regret it

There are lots of knives that are issued for duty depending on your MOS.
Ontario knife makes many of the fixed blade knives such as the Navy dive knife, Air force survival knife, The "Ka Bar", not the original but a decent copy there of, the new USMC bayonet/fighting knife and others.
Benchmade makes a switchblade, the 9100 SBK that is issued to some aircrews in the Marines.
There is also a knife used to cut parachute lines that is stowed in the SV-2 or survival vest.
A lot of guys buy their own knives. There are also other knives out there that are used.

SOG and Gerber.
The Ka-Bar is not issued anymore, but it is still tradition for a Marine fresh out of Basic to pick one up. Most take their Ka-Bar on tour of duty still too.

I know the SEALs use or have used SOGs. TigerShark I think. As for the others, I have no idea. I bought a TigerShark myself for 30 bucks from a friend. They are worth about 150. Damn good knife....
