1- do you think it would be appropriate under ANY circumstances?

2- what would make it justifiable (not fair, but if a situation arose where it was necessary), what cause would, and what would you implement to make it not become a repeat of the japanese internment camps- which the government ended up paying reparations. however it seemed more like the way it was handled than the actual interning.

any other LEGITIMATE comments.

this comes from this (obviously inflammatory) question.

Keep in mind that this would have to apply to other "groups" as well, if the christians, hare krishnas or 7th day adventists became a threat this would need to work too.

I'm not looking for someone to agree with me (which is why i purposely didn't state my thoughts).

if people actually care about points anymore- best logic and most well thought out and backed up answer and reasoning gets it. either that or I'll send you a link to a picture of a monkey.

The q'uran states that you SHOULD be offered Islam, but that you MUST be killed if you refuse Islam. Muslims should be asked to clarify this part of their text, of which every word is considered to be the true word of God. If in fact it turns out that Muslims as a general population do not believe their own scriptures, they are fine with me. However, it may be that Muslims are like any other religion, where there are people who do lip service because that was the way they were brought up, and then there are the Muslims full of zeal. How do we know which is which? There own book states that anyone not a Muslim MUST die.
Internment camps? Maybe not, but I am all for De-programming camps.
Thank you.

The only circumstance under which it would be appropriate would be one in which each individual member of a given group were proven to have participated in the nuclear attack.

However, if a nuclear attack were to occur in the US or Europe, I would truly fear for the safety of Muslims in this country and abroad. Muslims were justifiably frightened after 9/11--I remember many people being afraid to go to school for weeks. Can you imagine the results of a nuclear blast? There's a significant proportion of Americans that already violently hate them, and they'd just love to have an excuse.

No, no extra desirable than it relatively is clever to intern or incarcerate all midsection-elderly white men given it is the demographic that the first public of serial killers fall into. Your nevertheless speaking approximately rounding up, like livestock, thousands and thousands of regulation-abiding, patriotic and non violent individuals because of the acts of distant places radicals that they don't be responsive to, do no longer help and don't sympathize with. genuine clever. that's what makes terrorists at living house, stupidity like that. Timothy McVeigh - White Christian Male Eric Rudolph (Olympic bomber) - White Christian Male Why are not you in an internment camp? Why are not you suggesting that white Christian men be rounded up. that is no longer purely like the Christians exceeded those adult men over. some incredibly stupid techniques are patently no longer thought out, in any respect, in the past being puked out for public intake.

Taking people and herding them like animals because of a general overall fear of a designation of people is never the correct action to take.

I do not think anything makes the action justifiable. If one starts saying in this instance it's okay because of this, this and this, eventually other actions that are not okay become considered and their implementation rationalized because of previous precedence. Once we do that, we fail as a humane, just society.

Internment camps were used on Americans of Japanese heritage in WWII. They are NOT appropriate under ANY circumstances!

Great job asking a hard question that goes right to the heart of things. My short answer is no. Fear does not justify imprisonment. Civil liberties are a key factor in my decision making.
