I just came back from the Disney Cruise Ship "Magic". You can start doing some research on the Disney Cruise web site, get their DVD.

Disney cruise "discounts" are normally purchased way in advance (we mad ours about 14 months in advance) but we met others on our cruise who got the less desireable rooms on last minute deals (normally from unsold rooms or cancellations).

Disney was very well organized from the time of the reservation, pre-trip information, picked us up at the airport, took our luggage straight to the room, tons of information sources during the cruise (including a newsletter) on activities, shows, lectures, seminars, dining, shore cruises, movies...etc.

They made sure they had activities for kids of all ages (most of Deck 5 is set aside for kids), so you and your 4 year old will never be bored.

Check out www.cruisecritic.com. This site has professional and recent traveler reviews (good and bad). This was a good source of information to plan and prepare for your trip.

Good Luck and have fun.

Yes, I have been on a Disney cruise. It is just what you would expect from Disney. When you board the ship, you are greeted by Disney characters (ours had Minnie & Mickey). There are Disney characters everywhere and special effects (such as dinning room plates that change colors) that only Disney provides.

Disney cruises are not discounted, so to get the best price, go to a company that specializes in cruises (instead of a generic travel agency that books everything) as they will often block space well in advance and have better rates.

If it is specifically the Disney characters and environment that you are looking for, then by all means book with confidence. If you are looking for a cruise that you can be sure your child will enjoy and price is a bit of a factor, I would suggest looking at Royal Caribbean. They have an excellent children's program which is just as much fun for the kids (broken down into age groups) and rates about 25% less than Disney in general.
Hope this helps.

I have been on the four day cruise, Disney Wonder. It was fantastic and compared to other cruises I have been on Disney is the best. The only dissapointment I had was not enough seafood, I love seafood but other than that is was a fantastic cruise. For great prices work with a qualified cruise agent. If you are interested in help feel free to contact us. Our agency offers shipboard credit with every cruise and Donna our owner is a Graduate from the Disney College of Knowlege, a cruise specialist and travels to Disney World just about every year. For contact information visit our website by searching for "BC Travel Company" in your yahoo websearch box, we should be the first listing. You can also check prices online through our "Book Your Travel" webpage.

disney has high standards on their ships from what i have heard. because of the BRANDname and everyone wants disney, most cruises are booked full price, that is you don't get much of a discount. that said one of the large on line cruise travel agencies would be a good bet. Keep searching, and talking to others who have had success booking cruises. good luck and have fun

Please contact me. I am a Travel Agent that can get you the best price as I deal directly with Disney. Tell me the date you want... I will research it for you. Just email me on the system!!! Don't listen to the other people. No one but Disney can get you better prices. So if they are not Disney Certified agents, which I am, then it will be the reg. price.
