I can tell you. First off I am a 15Y which is the armament electrician for the Apache. Many people have done it that I know. The easiest way is to go high school I would go back and talk to your recruiter don't let him lie to you don't sign the papers to leave for basic until you have the job you want. You will need to retake your asvab so go study I believe you need to get above a 110 to do it I got a 116 GT. Once you are in if you fail to do all that you have to apply to become a warrant officer that is the next easiest way you still need the 110 but you need to take another test to apply for the warrant position and get a letter of recommendation from a few officers and warrant officers the higher the better. The only other way is to become an officer if you join you can apply for the green to gold program and go to college full time then you go to OCS and become an officer then you pick your branch go to aviation school and etc.

You would need to be a warrant officer. In order to become a warrant officer, you will need a 4 year college degree, and not to be mean, but a high GT score in order to become a pilot. If you really want it however, get your degree, take a FAST class and do the right things and you will be fine. It will be tough, but worth it. Apaches are sweet machines. We had air support from a few Apaches downrange and it was always nice to have the flyboys around. Good luck.

the only people who can fly the apache, AH-64 are officers and warrent officers, when you get to your unit find your career counselor and ask them about WOC school (flight) so you can start doing all the things that you have to do prior. I know that you have to take a FAST test, do a Class 1 flight phyiscal, and some other things.

Good Luck

You have to be either a warrant officer or a commissioned officer to fly helicopters. You can become a warrant after you reach E-7. To become a commissioned officer you need to attend 4 years of college and earn a bachelors degree.

Sounds like you really needed to work this out before you enlisted.

Good luck trying to change your MOS. Once you've chosen, you have to do your contract in that MOS.
