I don't like answering long, drawn out, and detailed questions.

Get the Holy Ghost. The Bible says that the Holy Ghost will lead you in ALL Truth! Just do what is recorded in Acts 2:38 and when you receive the Gift, you will speak in an unknown language. Then you will develope a thirst and a hunger for the Truth and you will be able to figure out for yourself what is true and what isn't! Praise God!!

You could always try reading it.

If you already have read it, read another translation of it. If you've read the Jerusalem Bible, read the New Revised Standard Version. If you've read both, try the King James Version. If you really want to go nuts, get yourself a copy of the Tanakh (the Jewish Bible) and read what Jewish people read when they read what Christians refer to as the 'Old Testament'.

Or you could read actual books about the Bible. Now, there's a thought.

Contact Jehovah's Christian Witnesses. Obtain the book What Does the Bible Really Teach? Also ask for a free home Bible study.

Read it.

Also, use a concordance, this is a study tool keyed to the KJV version where you can look up a word and see where it is used in every other place in the Bible, to compare scripture with scripture when searching for truth.

Learn Greek and Hebrew.

Seriously. If your god chose those languages, it's worth your time to learn them.
