From what I understand, carsickness is caused by an inconsistency between what your body feels what should be happening and what your mind knows is happening.

For example, if you are reading while riding in a car, your mind concentrates on the words, while your body feels movement, despite being in a sitting position. Thus the inconsistency... your mind sees the world as still while your body feels movement.

So since a driver is constantly aware of his/her movement and is forever adjusting and controlling it... you don't get carsick.

Well the reason you get carsick is because you are looking inside the car at things that are not moving. Your brain gets confused because it can feel you moving at a fast speed, but your eyes are telling it that you are not moving. For you to get carsick while driving, you'd have to not be looking out the window, so it would be kinda hard to drive...

Maybe because there use to it driving around in their car all the time and it's like something which is not different to them as they adapt to their car whereas the passenger might not travel in cars very often so they feel uneasy.

because they are watching what is going on outside the car, so they motion they feel, and what they see correlate.

Carsickness usually happens when someone isn't looking out the window, so they feel the motion but they don't see the movement. Its because our sense of balance is a combination of what we see and the motion that we feel, so when they aren't combined like usual, we get our balance screwed up and feel sick.

It's because of the way you look at the road. It doesn't make you sick if you look at the road like you are driving. I cross alot of mountains and that is the only way I can keep from getting sick.

because they are in the front seat, and in control of the car. If you aren't in control of the car your aren't anticipating everything they are going to do and at what speeds
