Without hiring a private investigator, how can I obtain mall surveillance tapes from less than 2 years ago for a legal case?

The incident was in the Macy's parking lot Nov of 05. I will try to get the subpeona. Thanks.

Try asking for them. Depending on your purpose they may give a copy to you. A mall is a private company, so you may not have any legal right to them. If it is a lawsuit against the mall, they probably won't just give them to you without a subpoena. A lawyer can argue your case for them before a judge.

You ask. If they say no, which they have every right to, then you have to get a subpoena. They may not have the tapes from that long ago.

You issue a subpoena to the owner of the tapes.

i doubt they kept the tape unless at the time they where informed of a criminal action and pending lawsuit
