I am out of status in the United States currently ( I did come on an F1 visa) I have a social security number but dont have any work autherization with me.

If you came on a student visa most are entitled to work for an employer for up to 18 months after they have completed their course of study. Some employers will hire them and turn the student visa into a H1-B visa. As this has not happened to you you have 90 days to vacate the USA from when your visa expired.
