Even for those who do not ponder about philosophy on a daily basis, do you ever question that all that we percieve, all memories and feelings are entirely fake? that we are really in fliud-filled vacs?

Well we are indeed fluid filled sacks. And your philosophical question is much older than The Matrix.

That movie is probably my favorite action movie of all time, but the existential questions it raises are Hollywood's juvenile interpretations of a post-modern philosopher's ideas. If you really want to be wowed, read Simulations and Simulacra by Jean Baudrillard.

Also, take a look at the title of the book that Neo takes off the shelf toward the beginning ;)

But alas, I don't think we're in the matrix described by the movie, no.

I understand what you are asking. Many times I have wondered if we are in a sort of matrix. Not like the movie but on a different level

The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

Jeez, sometimes I'd like to hope so. That would mean that there was a chance we could revolt against the machines and make a new reality which would be super because the one we're in now is going to hell like, super fast.

you are the only one who is able to answer that question,
living in the matrix means enjoying animal pleasures,
meat, sex, sugar, money.
ask yourself this question everytime you remember:
1.where am I?
2.what am I doing?
3.what am I thinking?

I can help you, but just as the movie blue pill or red pill, this will change your life 100% if you are willing to find out if the matrix is real, write me. pok3r@hotmail.com

hope it helps.

I don't think we are but....

you could easily be because everything that is real is only real b/c of what your brain tells you

the sense of touch, sight, smell, hearing and seeing are all made real in the brain

That was a movie, not real. Even if it is true, it wouldn't change anything and we would all contine to live the same.
