Condemnation of homosexuality isn't a logical issue, it's an emotional one. So, if all emotion is an extension of love or fear, it seems to me that condemnation of homosexuality is fear-based.

So, if those two things are true, why do anti-gay people often deny being a homophobe and how do you reconcile fear-based judgments when Jesus was motivated by love?

God condemns homosexuality. I don't think He is afraid. Anti-gay people are not homophobes (another put down by arrogant sinners).

It's not an emotional issue, it's a Biblical issue. God condemns it in the bible numerous times. Maybe that's where people get mixed up, by claiming it's a "religous" condemnation, which sometimes translates to how people feel about something, rather than what God says.

If you're going to say fear or love, it would be love-based because God loves us all. And if we love Him, we try to follow what His teachings.

If you know someone is headed for a pit and don't warn them and just say "O well" no skin off my teeth let them fall in. That's not love. Bothering to speak the truth in love is a lot more trouble than not speaking up. It's a lot easier to sit back and be popular and have everyone like you because you tell them what they want to hear, rather than tell them the truth.

Result of fear of God's word and love of God. Homosexuals are insignificant compared to this.
The big picture is just trust in God. Trust in God by fearing His authority and loving His grace.
I personally think homosexuality if wrong, but I don't care what happens to you.

Neither.

Its a result of pure hate.

Religion has a lot of that on offer.
