Great question. (Star for you). Since this is a religion and spirituality section, I will try to stick with that theme. I would like to go back to the time Jesus allegedly existed and see how much of the biblical account of his life is true, if any. I know this isn't one event, but I think it would be fascinating, not just for me as an atheist but for Christians as well. If he lived and was actually crucified, I'd like to do an experiment and try to prevent his crucifixion and see what effect it would have on history.

And poseidon, like you I would like to see Galileo, but on the day he "recanted." prostrate before the tribunal and then walked out denying what he had just so eloquently confessed. That had to be a scene.

1066 - Battle of Stamford Bridge and then follow Harold Godwinson down to Hastings and watch the Battle of Hastings.

Not sure why I got a thumbs down -- these events set the course of European, and eventually American, history for the next 1,000 years. Had either battle come out differently, the last millenium would have been completely different.

EDIT: JHON C congratulations- someone else at least knows the historical context of a certain famous recent fanboy movie. It was a good movie no doubt. Just didn't think anyone else really gave a crap beyond hollywood hooplah.

How can we know what event is coming in the future?
If Christ is coming again, I'd like to see him, but I think he is already here in the souls of all those who believe in him.
I would like to see his birth, but don't want to live in those times.
