Okay i want to got my hair cut like anne hathaways. Not the cut in Devil wear prada with the bangs, but the one thats long and kinda casual and simple, but i dont know how to describe it to a hairstylist and my printers broken. Can anyone put what im wanting into words a hairstylist will understand? This sounds dum, but i can never explain myself well.

Show up early to the salon. Salons usually have lots of fashion & gossip mags (e.g. InStyle, People) or catalogs of hair cuts. Go through them to find a photo of Anne Hathaway or a similar hair cut.
You can also swing by a local bookstore & thumb through some magazines to find a photo. Buy the issue & bring it w/ you.
Show the stylist what length you want by pointing & using your fingers. You want just enough layering in the front to add some dimension but they need to be long layers.
Describe the texture of your hair - i.e. Do you need to blow dry it every day to get volume? or Do you have any cowlicks?
Explain how much time you are willing to spend styling your hair every day. Let her know how much versatility you need. e.g. Do you want to keep the layers long enough to put you hair up on a pony tail for sports?

Just tell her that you want one like Anne Hathaways. Maybe she'll know who she is. Except don't mention the bangs. Just say it to her like you described in the question. If she doesn't know who she is, bring a pic.

I would find a photo of what you like on the internet, print it and show the stylist.
Remember the cut is only half the look, make sure you ask them to teach you how to make it look that way as well and recommend decent and easy to use product as well

A long cut, with a slight inside hook. Bangs are medeocer long with a inner curl.
Is that good?

I really like the Devil Wears Prada, but Get Smart was a better movie. But I like the short hair she had in Get Smart a little too. :D

the place where i go and get my hair done have internet access, try calling your hair stylist and ask her if they have internet access, other than that i can't help you. sorry. try really hard to get a picture cause it's the only way you are gonna get it the way you want it.
