Why is it that americans or anyone belive that a war will happen over night? I do not know why they think this because wars last years, but they still think that. They get all fired up when something like 9/11 happens and say yeah go kill em', but after awhile they decide oh i do not want to like the war anymore it is taking too long. There are people there dying every day and when they look on the news they are not discribed as heroes but as killers trying to steal oil. I have family in the military i have friends and relatives that have been in Iraq, and I know we want them out of harms way but they are doing good over there they are helping a country form. The soldiers in my family and my friends think what they are doing is good so I support them all the way like everyone should. I know we all have our own opions ,but people are dying for something we should welcome them home not spit in their faces and call them killers....that disgusts me.

It's possible to care for your fellow country men and women without agreeing with our Presidents actions. There are those who don't support our governments decision to go to war in this particular instance BUT still support our troops. Then there are those who, in my point of view, are extremists and they believe that anyone who participates in war, whether by support or action, is a killer regardless of the circumstance. Still, I believe that the majority of the country is behind the troops themselves and wants the best for them. There is allot done to show that support, but just like the good that the troops do in Iraq, it receives little media coverage. As far as the soldiers themselves, I have heard many of them say that they don't personally agree with their mission but at the same time they will never agree with those who say the war is wrong. If they did that would be acknowledging that all of their fallen comrades and all of their own personal pain has been for not. Everyone wants to believe that their sacrifice means something, and I do believe that it does. These men and women have decided to serve and possible pay the ultimate price for their country. There is no act that is less selfish and more honorable. We owe it to them to do what we can to make sure that the orders they receive from OUR government are worthy of our men and women. That, at least, is my humble opinion.

Saddam was a dictator but he and Iraq's people had nothing to do with 9/11. And while we waste our time in Iraq, some of the real 9/11 perpetrators and masterminds are still free.

In WW2 we were attacked by Japan. Would you have approved to declare war against China for what Japan did? That would have been ridicule and senseless.

We are just using 9/11 as an excuse for our own profit. People support their troops but that doesn't mean they have to approve the war.

It's easy to neglect your troops when the decision to start the war happens on the watch of a president and congress whose party you don't like. That's all this is, they hate Bush so much they'll do anything to sabotage his efforts. If Clinton started this war, you wouldn't hear a peep from them.

I find it ironic too that the people closest to the war, those fighting it or those praying for family members fighting it happen to be the strongest supporters, don't you? It really makes you wonder where these anti-war anti-US army types get any credibility from?

Well, you could say that the democrats have spit on the troops repeatedly 'metaphorically'. Statements made by Reid, Pelosi, codePinko and others are constantly belittling and berating the soldiers.

This country's biggest failure in history was not putting down the treasonous and seditious activities of the hippy's and counter-culture movement of the 60's and 70's.

It depends what airports you into while in Uniform; Fly into Dallas-Fort Worth and the Texans treat U.S. Service Members like the returning heroes that they are! They buy you drinks, offer to pay for your meals, lend you cell phones so you can call your family and loved ones.

Fly into Logan International in Boston, MA and you'll be greeted by dirty looks and people who turn away from you as you approach them. I'm pleased to report to you that things haven't changed very much over the years. I was coming home from Basic Training in April 1972 and got spat on by some highly moral college students.

Cut the $#!+, either get behind our troops or feel free to stand in front of them. Stop giving aid and comfort to our enemies!!!

Sweetie, you're confused. That was Vietnam where soldiers got spat on. Now, we just send troops that get home to crappy hospitals and try to make them live as normal civilians, even with a nub where one limb was. And by the way, there are people who didn't support the war before it was cool not to. If you really supported the troops, then you would spend less time bashing people who think differently than you and actually try to get them universal healthcare. And before you get mad at me for differing in my opinion, my father was in the Air Force and met my mother when she was working in the rec center where he was stationed. I was born around a US Air Force base in Panama (look it up on a map). I'm *not* anti-military. I'm anti-jack@$$. I do support the troops. And what better way of supporting our troops than bringing them home and taking GOOD care of them.

Very well said! I study military history and so I understand wars take time to fight, and mistakes are always made. No one can predict everything. Our troops, our great allies the British, and the troops from Australia and Poland all deserve our support and thanks. Hopefully, we can get the Iraqis on their feet, so they can run their nation and we can bring the troops home, but not until Iraq is capable.

As for Dallas....he or she seems to forget all of the men and women who died while democrat LBJ ran the Vietnam War.

Look no further then the Media. They prey on the uneducated in hopes to find a new outlet for news. Those that cry the loudest are the Sheeps and those that protect the Sheep are the Sheep Dogs. I am a Sheep Dog. What are you? Call me what ever you want but I know when I lay my head down at night I have a good feeling that My Brothers In Iraq and Afghansitan are protecting me and my own.
