The nation of Peru suffered an enormous tragedy last night when an 8.0 magnitude earthquake struck the city of Ica. My heart goes out to all Peruvians. My question for this board is that since the greatest loss of life, over 200 people, where killed when the church they were praying in collapsed, does this have any theological significance?

"they were called sooner than others" Even the children? The babies in mother's arms? Without ever having a chance to mature intellectually and emotionally into adults? What kind of cruel, capricious god would do that?

It has great theological significance, as well as social and anthropological. What this means is that the Peruvian people should return to following their ancestral Indiginous religion and cast aside foreign beliefs. IF they had been following their ancestral eneither those that died, nor the building they were in would ahve been in that place at that time. The need to reclaim their birthright and heritage before it is too late.

No, it has no theological significance. People, including Christians, die all the time. If the same people were in a hotel that collapsed, you wouldn't be asking about theological significance. Why would there be any theological significance to the structural collapse of a church building during an earthquake?

Well, there are a lot of worse ways to go than to be praising God when it's your time to go. I just hope that the dying part was quick and they didn't suffer for very long.

Seriously though, each of us are appointed a time to die. So, I know that at some point it will be my turn. I won't try to hasten it or prolong it. I promised God a few years ago, when I was suicidal, to stay here for as long as it is time for me to be here. It's up to us to use our time on this earth wisely because we don't know when our time will be over.

Yeah, well, God knows what he's doing...I'm sure it will come out eventually that Peruvians are some kind of gay homosexuals, and then it's alright.
