Yeah its perfectly normal...I had the same problem, it may take a few days to a week for the inside of your mouth to almost "callous" so it won't be sore anymore...but its goes away :) And it will all be worth it in the end. And like everyone else said, wax does help...even though I hardly ever used it. Its all a personal preference I guess. Good Luck!

Use the wax that your orthodontist gave you. This wax will protect the inside of your lips. Unfortunately it does take time for the inner part of the mouth to get used to the new hardware. But the wax will protect the area that has been scratched up and allow it time to heal. If your orthodontist did not supply the wax, places like CVS and Walgreens may carry it.

The orthodontist should have given you a little container of wax to use on the outside of the braces in the spots that are rubbing and cutting your mouth. If s/he didn't, call and see if you can get one. There is no reason to suffer needlessly.

yeah that's normal, the orthodontist should have given you a little container with wax to use for that.. place it in your mouth where it's cutting you, and it'll help keep it from cutting you so it'll heal

Yes. You should use the wax the orthodontist gives you, and how long it takes to go away depends. Use that wax, it should be immediate.

2 options.

Get wax.
Dont get wax and tough it out till you mouth gets used to.
All in all if you use wax your month will not get used to them and it will prolong.
